nicotine and bc - August 11th 2013, 04:06 AM

Soooo everyone knows youre not supposed to take hormonal birth control and smoke, but now I have to wonder... does that apply to ecigs and hookah shish?
The risk of bloodclots for me as a mild cig smoker are still pretty low, but with me never smoking cigs and smoking hookahs and ecigs often I am not really sure. I have been doing some research on the matter, but haven't come across anything conclusive. Any info to share?

I think that your doctor or your pharmacist would be the best person to ask about this. They would know the latest research on things like e-cigarette smoke and how it works with different medications. Anytime you have a question about your medication and how it mixes with different drugs you should always get medical advice straight from the source.

What type of birth control are you on? If you're on a combination method, I'd definitely talk to your doctor about ecigs and hookah to lower blood clot risk. If you're on a progesterone only method, I'd still bring.it up with your doctor, but the chance.of.blood.clot with these is very low.
