Vapes - November 19th 2014, 03:35 AM

So, my friend smokes a vape. I tried it and it was actually nice. She smokes one that DOESN'T have nicotine in it. What was nice about it for me was seeing the smoke, for some reason it was relaxing. I was thinking of getting one.

What are the health risks associated with smoking a vape that doesn't contain nicotine, if anything?

Compared with cigarettes, what are the health risks associated with smoking a vape that DOES contain nicotine?

Basically, before I get one, non-nicotine or nicotine containing, I want to see how much damage I'll be doing to myself. I mean obviously with the nicotine one there's addiction and stuff. But if either option causes me too much damage don't want to get it!

Note: I'm not trying to promote smoking, I just want to know so I don't get myself really sick or something.

Hey Dez,

Vaping is still pretty new so they aren't totally sure how many health problems it can cause. While it is safer than smoking cigarettes, it does still carry some level of risk. I did a little bit of research and found a science website that has links to journal articles so it should be pretty reliable.

Here is the link for the website.

It looks like e-cigarettes could possibly make bacteria harder to kill and the vapers could possibly contain harmful chemicals. SInce e-cigarettes are pretty new, it is difficult to completely determine how dangerous they are. If I was you, I probably wouldn't pick up the habit as it appears like it could potentially affect your health.

I agree with Kitty, I wouldn't turn vaping into a habit.
