Aspirin - January 5th 2015, 07:11 AM

This thread has been labeled as triggering, particularly on the subject of self harm, by the original poster or by a Moderator. The contents of this thread might therefore not be suitable for certain sensitive users. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

[Edit] I've never used it before, nor do I use drugs of any type ever. From my research, it looked like the safest choice for what I want it to do. Is there anything I should know before I start using it solely for this purpose? I know not to use it too often, and that it may cause stomach bleeding, but that's all I can seem to find.

Re: Aspirin - January 5th 2015, 04:19 PM

Hey there,

Taking OTC (over the counter) medication for the use that it is not intended for (pain relief, muscle pain, fever, etc.) it can be hard on our bodies organs to process the drug. If you use other than pain relief, muscle pain or fever, we can develop an immunity to the particular drug and when we really need something, it wouldn't work as we would like it to be.

Keep in mind, that taking that sort of drug in moderation for pain relief, muscle pain fever, etc., is perfectly fine. Taking it for other reasons due to a substance addiction or another reason can be harmful. When we take OTC it goes through one of our organs, which then that organ/organs need to work harder to eliminate that drug. If you took that type of OTC you're at higher risk for organ damage, stomach ulcers, relying on OTC where it could become an addiction.

If you have any other questions, please post here or you can send me a PM.

Take care.

Re: Aspirin - January 5th 2015, 04:40 PM

Hi there,

Occasionally, older people may take 1 baby aspirin daily to help reduce the risk of a heart attack. However, a healthy young adult should not use aspirin for therapeutic purposes because of the risk for addiction and bodily harm. The liver gets stressed when it has to process a drug, and that can damage your system over time.

In addition, I personally was on ibuprofen for a medical condition, and ended up getting stomach ulcers from using it for a long time (under a doctor's advisory) and trust me you definitely don't want ulcers.
