Using any substance to forget things can never be good, and drinking alone is never going to help as alchol is a depressant, and if you do not have people around you to make you laugh , smile etc.

It will depress you as thats it's natural effect.

I would say you may have a problem, it's not as a bad as some peoples but it is still alcohol abuse and you would be wise to get yourself fixed on this area.

Also thinking of the reasons why you drink and trying to solve those problems, you always have options. No matter how hard they are, there is an alternative.

Listen to your instincts. Consider these questions:

1. Do you *think* you have a problem?
2. Do you drink everyday?
3. Do you drink to get drunk?

If you think you have a problem, then I'd start working on stopping.

my therapist told me that using any kind of substance to cope with problems or with life in general is not neccessarily a problem but can very easily become a problem. My drug addiction started with me using drugs to cope with my problems or forget about them.
