One month - May 31st 2015, 07:02 PM

Hello. Starting June 1st I am going to make an effort to not drink for at least one month. Im getting tired of drinking every other day and feel I need to keep it out of my system because it is starting to affect my health. Hopefully I can do this and maybe ill feel better about myself at the end of June.

I am so proud that you are going to try. Admitting that there is a problem and coming up with a way to solve it are the first steps towards recovery. I know that it's going to be a lot of work but you can do it.

Have you come up with plans on what you can do if you get the urge of needing to drink? If not I would be happy to help you come up with something's to try.

As always if you need to talk you can contact me via PM/VM. I will listen to you and never judge you.

Hi there.

I'm an alcoholic and had to go on detox twice because when i didn't drink i had the shakes, the sweats and they think i might have had a fit too. Be aware stopping drinking is hard work. It takes hard work from yourself an d it takes time. However it is possible and you can beat it. If its starting to affect your physical health then I think you're doing a good thing but make sure you're doing it in the right way. If you need help with it too, don't be afraid to reach out for help. And we're always here to support and encourage. You are more than welcome to PM me anytime if you need or want too. Whether its for a chat or distraction. I don't mind.

Just keep fighting. I think what you are doing is amazing and I believe you can do this. Head high and fight.

Wow, good for you! As having had family members who have once been alcoholics and now in recovery, I'll offer up some advice. Don't go through this alone. A support system is soooo important right now for you, because coming off of substances is really just a difficult thing in itself, but alone is so much harder. Maybe consider joining Alcoholics Anonymous. My mom is in it still, and is almost five years sober. She keeps going for the community and the message. You're totally capable of getting through this, just reach out to people. Utilize support

That's so great to hear, you should be proud of yourself, Ryan! It's such a good thing that you're trying to stay sober especially since it's affecting your health. You can do this, even if you feel like you can't sometimes. Just remember that you're welcome to get support here throughout your recovery process, okay? Stay strong.
