They will never know - November 1st 2010, 12:02 AM

I went to a party last night, I was kind of happy but awkward and once the alcohol was brought into the mix I was happy. It happens every time, I go out and get drunk but I cannot function without it. I can't stop, it is all I do at the parties and the outtings, and it makes me forget all my troubles.

I know I should quit but I live with a family who gives me the drinks, no one seems concern for me and it is like they support it sometimes. Occasionally my girlfriend will ask me to stop but it did not reach my mind till I was drunk off my ass.

Well, Joy. You're obviously coming to terms with the fact that you believe you have a problem.

Whilst, of course we're all here for you anytime. I think right now the first people you should be turning to is your family and your girlfriend. Find a way in which you feel comfortable to tell them that you think you're developing a reliance on alcohol and you'd like their help to put a stop to it. If you're not comfortable talking face to face with them, try and write them a letter or an email. It'll allow you to say everything you need to say without interruptions and will also give your family and friends time to think about the matter and give you proper response and work out how they can help you.
