why when some one tells us that we cant do something we want to do it even more!!!

so i went to a A.A meating and it went well i promised my self that i wouldnt use any more and the past couple of days has been good now that my mom is telling me that i have to stop i have the urge to go and use and its so strong i mean i cant even think straight its so funny and scarey because i know im going to use ot night i just wanted to know why is that.

The reason we do things that we get told not to do is because its thrilling to be doing something rebellious. Have you ever done something that gives you a rush of adrenalin? We do it because it is exciting.

But even though this makes you want to do it more, you just need to take a step back and realise WHY they're telling you not to do it. They're saying these things to try to help you get better, and that's what you've got to keep in the back of your mind. I know it might be scary now, but believe me, I'm pretty sure the consequences of using are much scarier.
Try not to give in, because I KNOW you know you shouldn't be using. Try to keep to your promise.
