I just want to hurt everyone who drinks and drives..including my mother!!

Hey Brittany,

I understand how you feel. Drinking and driving is something that should and could be stopped. It isn't right at all. I don't think hurting people is a good way of expressing how you feel though. Hurting them won't solve anything, it might make you feel better or worse. It won't stop DUI any sooner. Maybe you can join some awareness groups or some organizations against it. That is a good way to be heard. As for your mom, I suggest telling someone about her bad driving habits. Have you confronted her? Either way, I wouldn't leave the situation untouched. Try an organization like Alcoholics Anonymous. We might not be able to completely stop DUI, but one person can make a huge difference. You can make a difference in a positive and healthy way. :] If you need to talk, I'm only a PM away.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Brittany. And I am completely behind you on this one. Drunk driving is just wrong. There is no justification for these actions. Absolutely zero. It's so selfish and foolish that people do this. I proudly stand in my role as key master at parties.

That's really sad. I'm totally against people drinking and driving to my hearts content that's why I got a poster from off of a website to hang on my wall...its about driving motorcycles drunk and how bad it is. But it's bad either way you look at it. I had a friend who was on the other side of the problem her brother was a drunk driver and killed somebody and landed in jail. I saw how it destroyed life on both ends. I don't think people even realize how dangerous it really is, even when they have had like 2 drinks or so.

I've never understood how people can let their friends drive home obliterated, but when you're that wasted that you get behind the wheel of a car and say, you're alone when you get drunk, those people's minds are not functioning properly. Alcohol can sometimes give you the false pretense that you're actually okay when you really aren't.

I agree drink driving is completely wrong and i wouldn't even dream of it. If i'm going out and i am unsure as to whether i am going to drink or not i will usually either stay over (if i'm at a friends house) or get the bus, it's really not worth the risk. Like tomorrow for example, i'm going to my friends flat and i'm stopping overnight because i'm driving there, i'll probably be there till at least 12pm the morning after as well so it gives me a chance to clear my head before i drive.

I know alcohol can make you think you can do things without consequences but drink driving is a definite no no for anyone who's had a drink. Unless you've made the decision not to drink and are willing to stick by it, then when you go out no way should anyone drive.
