Hi. 13 is young. im 18 and married. So yeah i understand the young thing. Im actually in the process of quitting from smoking some green. Its hard. But its going to be worth it. You really dont need to do them things. I watch my uncle die everyday from that stuff. Drinking and smoking and pills or anything else that might harm you should be taken outta the picture. Just try. Im sure you are strong. you just have to try.

Then you need new friends. Doing things like that can KILL you, and easily.

ENTIRELY seconded. Peer pressure is a HUGE force! If you can get rid of it, you can deal with addictions so much more easily.

Not to be really blunt or anything... but you really do need new friends. I'm sorry.

I agree with Melissa and Fred. I know these people may seem like really great friends, but I guarantee that the minute you get caught with drugs or alcohol they won't hesitate to throw you under the bus to save their own asses. Sorry to be harsh, but that's the pattern. Why hurt yourself and risk everything for people who don't even give a shit about you?

"Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it.
I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote,
“Dear Jim: I loved your card.”
Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.”
That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything.
He saw it, he loved it, he ate it."

I like how everyone automatically thinks because his friends drink and do drugs they are no good

yall got some serious problems with superiority complex's, not everyone who uses substances is a bad person and you have no real way of knowing anything about his friends.

But you do need to stop, your only 13, so theres no real way you can get help without your parents knowing, so its time to bite the bullet.

I personally never said anything about how the OP's friends are as people. Drugs in this case are seen as undesirable, and since peer pressure is one of the biggest contributing factors to drug use, I thought I'd advise the OP to get rid of it.

Really, I just advised the same thing you did.

Ummmm, that looks like you said something about his friends.

Peer pressure is an easy thing to blame, people need to take responsibility for them selves. There is no way of knowing if his friends are "pressuring" him into it (other than what he said, but like i said, peer pressure is easy to blame), yet most of the replies jumped to that conclusion

To the OP, you need to take responsibility, i get it that your 13 and its hard, but once you start letting the "oh its my friends fault, they pressured me", your taking the blame off yourself, when as harsh as it sounds, you chose to start drinking/doing drugs, they didn't force you, and if they did you should have realized right away there is a problem.

Now, the best thing for you to do, is tell your parents, or someone at school, but eitehr way your parents WILL find out, and its for the best dude, its not worth it at that age to be dependent (although its not at all, its alot harder when your still a kid)

Peer pressure can be a way bigger factor than you think. On paper, saying that the OP has the choice to just 'do his own thing' sounds ridiculously simple. However, when faced with the actual situation, it's a lot easier socially to just give in and do what everyone else is doing.

you are young but the great thing about being young is that even though you have made so many mistakes you have a lot of time to fix them, which you can do, if you try.if peer pressure is the problem, perhaps you should refrain from being around those who are pressuring you? At some point you will have to learn to take a stand for yourself and decide if you are going to let others make your decisions or if you will make your own.I believe you can do it.

Re: too young - January 28th 2011, 08:00 AM

i dont think peer persure has any thing to do with it.. he is his own boss.. you going to get drunk cause some one passed you some booze? or are you going to get drunk because you drank it? you going to get high cause the blunt was passed to you? or are you going to get high because you inhaled the blunt?

peer persure is a cop out... ive recently quit smoking weed, havent smoked for 2 years, which is good considering i smoked every day for years starting at your age 13.. im 18 now, i still chill with all my friends who smoke weed still and they ask if i want a toke and hit a bong, i just say i get to parnoide off that shit, or i say nah i got shit to do today..

its all up to you big guy..
