Get support. Tell someone you know and trust. Drug addiction and alcoholism is not easy to beat by yourself. PM me if you need to talk. I've been through rehab and everything, so I sort of know what you're going through. Stay strong.

telling someone i trust is the problem..i feel like i can't trust anyone, which makes this so much worse. and i feel that if i tell my bestfriend she'll judge me and only make things worse. she already knows i cut, and i hate that she knows cause she always asks me about it and i hate talking about it, and i'm sure it'd be the same way if she found out about the drugs and alcohol.

How about telling a counselor or a teacher? Your best friend probably isn't trying to hurt you, she probably just doesn't know how to deal with it. Cutting, and using drugs and alcohol are really unhealthy ways to deal with problems. A counselor will really help you with trying to find much better ways to cope.

i think you'd be surprised by the reaction of friends. if they're true friends they'll want whats best for you, and they'll be there. but if you don't feel like you can speak to them there are loads of other ways of going about getting help. i live in the UK so i'm not familiar with drug/alcohol support organisations over where you are, but google what's happening in your area. speaking to a counsellor at school (if your school has them) would be a good step. in the mean time.. try and find something else to focus your attention on instead of doing something destructive. find a new hobby, join a sports team, draw, write, sing. anything really.

Why don't you make the appointment and just see what happens? You don't necessarily have to talk about the drugs or alcohol, but maybe you can just bring up some things that are bothering you. It might not fix everything right away, but it's always better to take a step in a more positive direction.

Keep us updated, dani. <3
"Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it. I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote, “Dear Jim: I loved your card.” Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.” That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything. He saw it, he loved it, he ate it." |
