I need help.

I'm addicted to amphetamines and i want to stop but i cant. i get a prescribed dose now that my parents found out but i need an alternative I have ADHD. i just love the rush ya know? when you focus on one thing and thats all you focus on.

An addiction like that can be extremely strong the best way to handle it would be to see a doctor’s and have them take you off the drug. Often time’s people with addictions find it hard to deal with so they switch to illegal drugs which are even worse. The situation you find yourself in isn’t good. You need to want to come off the drug you can’t work against yourself.

Anytime you are prescribed a medication often times that doesn’t go without a risk. You need to take the dosage as prescribed otherwise you’ll wind up in a world of trouble.

i do want to come off. and i did tell my doctor, but do you know what she said? "oh stay on it, the addiction will go away by itself" ya...thats what she said and it pissed me off

I think you should talk to a psychiatrist, to be honest. They can get you meds that are actually for ADHD. I know you said you like being hyper-focused, and a lot of ADHD medicines do that sort of thing but are less addictive and much healthier than amphetamines. I myself have ADD (for which the same meds are prescribed as for ADHD) and I can say that they definitely give a rush and make you focus on things. That said, you need to take them as prescribed. Replacing one addiction with another is a horrible idea. Anyways, I'd try to ween yourself off amphetamines and get on some ADHD meds, but you should talk to a psychiatrist for the best help.

Interesting, If that's the case and you asked your doctor I would side with them. Be sure to take the medication as prescribed and hope the addiction goes away. If you want clarification on what the doctor said I'd ask a pharmacist. They'll be able to tell you exactly what that drug is capable of and how it affects the human body. Their word is just as good as the doctors sometimes they even know better.
