Still Have Urges to Use -

I've been sober of alcohol and all over the counter/prescription pills for 6 months and it's slightly depressing that I still have overwhelming desires to use and I was hoping it would decrease over time and not increase xP Sometimes I'm so overwhelmed that I have a small panic attack. Embarrassing right? What should I do?
Everthing I see seems to be a lie. And everything you see in me you think is the truth. But, really all you see is what I'm masking the real me with. You never see me cry. Because I'll never let you. And you'll never see me die because I feel like I already have in a way.

It's completely normal, the urges will happen and eventually, they will decrease. Just remind yourself how far you've made it and what's it's been like and what your goal is from the treatment. Don't be afraid to admit when you're having urges, it's a part of the recovery process. I know I don't know you, but I'm proud to hear you're seeking treatment and if you ever need someone to talk to, please don't hesitate to PM me.

Hey Brooke,
6 months is an impressive land mark. If you’ve made it this far I don’t see any reason why you can’t keep going. Only time can fix these urges and you seem committed good for you. Keep your dreams in mind and go for them. Its great to here of positive recovery story’s.
