Re: My mon caught me with weed -

She caught you with illegal drugs, whether you think it should be legal or not is another issue entirely. Brining up her own history isn't really going to help you because this situation is about you, not about her. Maybe she feels like her smoking pot was a mistake and she doesn't want you to get into it or she wants you to stop. It can lead to other drugs even though there isn't conclusive evidence that it will for everyone. Either way it is addictive, and even if it's safer than cigarettes that doesn't mean it's not harmful She's trying to protect you here. I can't judge whether 2 months is fair or not, but that's her decision. Since I don't know your age I'll add that even if you're 18 and can do what you want, you're still living in her house and she doesn't want illegal drugs in her home. If you really have a problem with it, wait until she calms down and talk to her about why you think it's unfair for reasons other than what she's done in the past.

PM me if you need to. But the easiest way to get her to back off is to gain her trust, tell her why you smoked it, and why you had it. The truth too, then stop smoking it. Gaining her trust will not only help your relationship but it will also allow her to.... Back off a little.

How old are you? Makes a big difference -- I didn't tell my mom I smoked/ate weed until after I left for college and now she really doesn't care as long as I keep it out of the house. Cigarettes though -- they'd kill me still.
