Would you think this is weird? - July 24th 2012, 04:31 AM

Honestly, I don't have much in the way of friends. It's summer vacation and I don't go to classes anymore, or the sorts of things I did to get out of the house during the school year.

I was going to sign up for something during the summer, but family problems prevented that, as my parents both had to be flexible, and couldn't commit to anything.

So, I'm getting really stir crazy here. I'm actually finding it hard to tell one day from another. I mean I interact with roughly 5 people every single day. All of my family.

Anyhow, I do have some "friends" on Facebook who I met throughout the school year, and I've been thinking about trying to set up something with some of them. A movie, the mall, I mean anything at all. But do you think it's weird to send someone a message on Facebook, especially if you don't know them all that well? I'm not particularly close with any of these people, and I was just curious to how you'd react to this.

Hey there,

I know how you feel, it is so easy to get bored during the summer, and doing things with new people, that you haven't talked to much, can be super fun. I think going to the mall or a movie would be a great idea, the worst thing they can say is no. So why not?

I know if someone who's nice messaged me on facebook and asked me to hang out...I would probably say yes. Haha. As long as you know them from school, or something, I think it would be a good idea.

Good luck!

So is it a matter of being bored?? Well, don't worry! One time I was so bored, I literally growled and started pacing about my room! So I hope you don't have to go through that

Well in my personal opinion, I think there at least has to be some good connection established with the person you want to hang out with. But if you know that the person is sociable and wouldn't mind hanging out with you, then it should be fine. Plus it'll give you an opportunity to get to know that person better.

If it is a matter of just making your summer more fun, then you don't necessarily have to socialise with your friends. Often I find doing the things I enjoy, which are more one-person oriented, makes up for not hanging out with friends. Think of any hobbies you have.

Anyway, hope this helped! Here's hoping you have a FUN summer!!

I know it's time to move on and let go... but I can't. I'm just... Stuck.in.time
