Exclamation who is responsible ? - April 14th 2009, 05:44 PM

okay so, my brother has his friends over almost every night
he is underage, and they drink. they get the beer from my
oldest sister who is 23.

if the cops ever came, would my mom be responsible for this
because its in her property? or would my brother be responsible
since my mom just thinks he has people over?

and what if my mom isnt home, and the cops come? who would
be responsible then?

Dunno how it is in USA, but if it happens in the home, your parents are ultimately responsible here in the UK. Your sister would have part responsibility since she buys the alcohol.

Your mom would be responsible if a cop came by and found a minor drinking in your house hold.

I'm not sure who would be responsible if your mom wasn't home. I would think that the cops would make you call your mom to come home, and see if she knew what was going on in her house.

I Beg you.... To have patience with everything
unresolved in your heart and try
to love the questions themselves as
if they were locked rooms
or books in a very foreign language
Don't search for the answers
Which could not be given to you
right now because you wouldn't be able to
live with them
and the point is to LIVE
Everything live
the questions now
Perhaps then some day
far into the future you will
gradually live your way into

Given that he is underage, it would probably be your parents' responsibility. You might want to research it, though, and find out what the law is where you are.

I think that the only reason the cops would come around is if your brother and his friends were doing something other than drinking. But since it is in your parents' house it is their responsibility.

If you are worried about this I think you should talk to your parents and warn them. It's not fair for them if the police do come by and they have no idea about what's going on. If you don't want to do this, then you should probably suggest to your brother or older sister to tell them.

thats true; i guess its hard to explain
like my mom knows whats going on
all she thinks there doing is drinking
though, when really they smoke hookah
and stuff.
but they dont do it in the house. they
do it in our backyard where they have
this shed that we dont use..
plus there pretty loud, so the cops
could come if our neighbors called them :\\
