She Keeps Lying... - April 16th 2009, 07:57 PM

So I'm sure i've posted here before about my sisters lying and stuff, and before i've always just treated it as a joke and stuff cause its been harmless.
But now its got beyond a joke.
She's been telling people she has cancer (which she doesn't) what do you guys think I should do? I haven't told anyone apart from a friend that I confide a lot in anyway.

Hi Amelia,

Cancer is definitely not something to joke about. If your sister does not have cancer then she should not be lying about it. That's not fair to her family and the people who believe her.

I think you should talk to your parents about this and get them to talk some sense into her. They should tell her to let those people she lied to know that she does not have cancer. If this lying is becoming consistent and she wont stop, it might be an idea to contact a professional about it.

The great artists of our time are the ones who created something timeless. But it was never them defining it that way.
Everyone has a story. What's yours?

I think in addition to talking to your parents, you should talk to her.
Try to stay calm and ask her simple questions;
Why does she lie about that kind of serious thing?
What makes her think it's okay to joke about that?
If she gets defensive and angry, back off and try again later when you both have calmed down.
Yelling never accomplished anything aside from being rather loud

If you took a chisel, and cracked yourself open
Letting light into the corners of your mind,
Peering inside your soul,
What would the world find?
Deep on the inside, where all your hopes happen,
All your hidden dreams die
Smiles that never happened? Tears you meant to cry?
