Opening up to my parents.

I finally, after months of self harming, have told my parents about my self harming and how it has become impulsive for me.

My dad was really upset and actually cried, whilst my mom told me that I was an adult and told me to do what I want :idk:

I feel so good about finally letting it go and my dad and I are going to spend more time together :D We're going to build a bear next weekend ;D

That's a weird reaction for your mom to have. (Perhaps it was something she didn't want to deal with, so she just shut it out.) But I'm really glad your dad was receptive! I hope things go well for you. <3

I am so glad your father was able to listen to you more. I hope that maybe from here, he will be someone you can turn to and get support for all of this! It seems as if he truly cares.

That's amazing that you finally got the courage to tell your parents. I'm glad your dad is incouraging and maybe he can become a support system for you. I'm sorry about your moms reaction. My grandma tells me i'm going to do it and she can't stop me unless I let her help me. My grandpa doesn't understand at all. So if you need someone to talk to you can always talk to me.

Aw, your dad seems to really care about you. I'm really glad your dad was so understanding towards this. Hopefully from now on, the support from your dad and spending time with him will end up helping you a lot along with forming a closer relationship with him. I'm sorry about how your mom reacted though, she may have felt as she didn't know what to say/feel about it.

You should be proud of yourself for telling your parents about this. Opening up about such sensitive, personal issues takes a lot of courage! :)
