How can I make friends? - October 13th 2015, 08:34 PM

I don't have any I have like 2 who treat me like crap and I haven't seen in ages I mostly speak to them on Facebook. I don't really have anyone who I can be friends with at work I'm hoping to leave my job soon and get something else because it's to far to travel I'm hoping to meet people at my next job when someone employees me that is. I'm not involved in a community it really kills me inside because I have no connections to make friends with anyone. I did go to College but failed to make friends there as I was suffering with mental health problems at the time since I have left school I just have not had any body to be friends with. It's hard when you don't have a single connection to anyone and you're so isolated from the world do you see how I mean? Normally if you have like one friend then you can meet his friends etc but I don't have that one. I'm not the sort of person who does clubs I don't really have anything that I like doing I just like to go out for a drink have a good time I obviously don't go out for drink because I don't have any friends. Me walking in to a bar or a restaurant and sitting down and hoping people will talk to me is certainly not going to work is it. I'm just struggling so much to make a friend I want some connections I want people to go out with and get involved with other people what can I do?

Thanks everyone!

Hey,

You said you're not the type of person who joins clubs, what about volunteering? Maybe you can look at some volunteering options in your area. It's a good way to meet people with similar interests. I volunteered taking care of reptiles a few years ago and I had a good time with that. A few common interests in someone is enough to allow you to slowly build a strong friendship.
