I need advice about my father's B-Day (it's today) - May 16th 2009, 10:13 PM

Ok , so my dad (who I love very much!) has his birthday today and he wants to go out to this really expensive sushi restaurant and then to a folk music concert, which I think is great. My problem is that I have dance rehearsal for 7 hours tomorrow and tonight is the only time I can get my HW done. The concert goes until 11:30 and I have to be up at 7 tomorrow. I would just say suck it up and go to it because it is his b-day, but my mom and I offered to make him dinner clean up, have a party relax and spend time as a family. At first he was like ok well I want to spend time with my family and so we offered to do this. Then he changed it to "I wan't to expose the family to folk music." I felt like this was something he could do just with my mom, and I could spend time with him later, but he thinks that I need to be exposed to more folk music. My problem is not the folk music (I love folk music) it's just that I am so busy and I would much rather spend time with him in a place where we both want to be, and I really am not going to have time to get all of my Homework done.... (added at 7:56 PM) OK everything resolved itself!!!!!!!

Hi Clara,

I'm glad everything was resolved for you. I hope you're family was able to celebrate your dad's birthday in a fun way while still allowing you to finish your homework.

Good luck with the dance rehearsal!

I'm going to close this now, but if you ever want to talk, or another problem arises, please feel free to PM me any time or make a new post.

The great artists of our time are the ones who created something timeless. But it was never them defining it that way.
