Mom screaming at me for no particular reason? - May 15th 2016, 07:54 AM

Okay, so I'm 14 and I have this sort of love/hate relationship that most kids have with their parents. This is usually a normal thing for me but right now, I'm not sure on what I should do.

How do I start this? Well, one lovely afternoon, I was studying Math for an upcoming exam and I was just minding my own business. BUT THEN my mom starts screaming at me for no reason and I'm not sure on what I should do because I had no idea what had happened a few minutes, in the living room before her arrival at my room. She then took my phone and stormed off to who knows where. A few moments later, she then starts screaming my name again about something related to my studies (Biz studies) and I'm just standing right in front of her, but she keeps screaming and screaming. I didn't even do anything wrong! She then says that she'll take away my phone if I don't do as she says. What???

What should I do? I can't take it anymore. I don't even know how to handle the situation.

Some of you may say that I should sit down and have a talk with her, but that's the last thing on my mind right now. Some advice would be lovely, thank you.

Hello there and welcome

If she told you to do something specific, then you have your answer and that's what you should do. If not, you can ask her when she's calmed down what you did or need to do, otherwise try not to worry about it too much. Sometimes people go off over unrelated things and/or it has nothing to do with you. Good luck.

I agree with what was said above. If she told you about something in particular, than that was probably what she was yelling about. And as it's been said, it's possible she was upset and misdirected it toward you. In the future, it might help to ask your mom to continue conversations after she cools down.

The mountains are calling and I must go.

They whispered to her
you cannot withstand the storm
she whispered back
i am the storm.
