Why does she do this? - August 14th 2017, 04:55 AM

My sister is 13. My parents favor me, they always get me expensive stuff and my sister has to do a ton of chores. I'm very grateful for the stuff. And I have triedc every thing to get my parents to treat us the same, but none work.
My sister loves hurting me, and she will NOT let me tell anyone.
Help!

Hey Rae,

The way your sister is treating you is definitely not acceptable. I know you said that she won't allow you to tell anyone about the fact that she is hurting you, but this is one of those times where it's okay not to do what you've been told. While it's understandable that it might be scary to go against what she's told you, it's important that you tell someone who can help put a stop to her behavior.

I'd definitely recommend talking to your parents about the way your sister is treating you. If you really don't want to tell them yet, try talking to another trusted adult in your life such as a teacher, a coach, a school counselor, or another family member that you're close to. It's okay if you need to start off slow and work up to telling them about everything that has been going on. It might be difficult, but you'll feel better when you do.

Take care,
Sammi
