I just can't be botherd any more... - August 4th 2009, 03:17 AM

3 years ago, I moved to a new country. I made a few new friends, I'll call the friend in question 'S'.

S and I quickly became good friends, and there was a group of three of us, S, another girl C and me. I know... 3s a crowd, and S and C were already good friends before I met them, so I sort of felt a bit excluded, but I understood it, and put up with it. I am a very 'anxious' type person, and am extremely shy, and find it exceedingly difficult to make new friends, so they are pretty much the only 'friends' I have.

So, S and I had quite a few things in common, 2 or 3 years ago, but as people get older, they change, I have become a drastically different person in this time.

Becuase S and I have grown apart, we sort of lost contact. We are homeschooled, so it isn't like we see each other every day, it used to be more like 3 times a week, and now it is only if we make an effort to meet up.

about October last year, she phoned me up out of the blue, asking me if I didn't like her or something. I said something along the lines of 'of course I don't hate you,, you are a good friend'. Bear in mind, that I am trying to get into the best university in the country, and I sit many exams in November, so september-october, I am revising my pants off, so of course I wouldn't have time to have a chat with her or anything like that, but she can't see that i'm busy.

Then this year, I went on a course on the other side of the country for a week in April. I was telling her about it before I left, and she said she would get in contact after so I could tell her all about it. She never did get in contact. so I decided to leave it, to see how long it would take for her to remember me. This was in April, the next time I saw her was last week- that is, almost 5 months, when she didn't bother to get in contact.

Oh yeah, and she completely forgot my birthday.

Don't get me wrong- I don't mind if we 'downgrade' our friendship, because in all honesty, I don't enjoy spending time with her any more, she is just too different. What annoys me is that she still considers up 'best friends' in a way. So i have decided not to bother with her any more. I probably sound really mean, but I have had a difficult past with a 'friend' and I'm sure that my feelings from the past are playing a part in this, becuase I was hurt very badly and left with depression and social anxiety.

To be honest, I don't know why I have just written this?
