Cousin's House - October 22nd 2009, 10:33 AM

Well hello everyone its my first post on teenhelp...its nice too meet you all..

Here's the situation...I'm staying over at my cousin Ashley's house for the weekend. Im sixteen and she's eighteen...The problem is her parents wont be home for most of the weekend. Since she the be older and more mature one in the house, does this mean she will be in charge of me? I don't have one problem with that I'm just wondering if she will check in with me every so often to see if everything is under control? Hey it might be fun ha ha

I will appreciate the help thanks.

Hello =]

Welcome to TeenHelp! It's nice to meet you too My name is Nat and if you ever have any questions about the site or want to talk sometime, please feel free to message me. I hope you enjoy TH and find the advice helpful.

Staying at your cousin's house could probably be a lot of fun. Since your cousin is older, I guess you could say that she is 'in charge', but that is mostly for safety issues. So if something goes wrong she is there to help out.

But 'in charge' doesn't mean you need to listen to her if what she is telling you is not safe or fair. You are a guest, after all, and bossing you around is not right.

Try and find some activities, movies, or games you could play together and just spend some time hanging out and bonding. Two years older shouldn't stop you both from having fun.

I'm sure everything will be fine at your cousin's house, but be sure to get your aunt and uncle's phone number if they have one just in case.

Take care.
