Exclamation December 1st 2009, 04:35 PM

I need some advise on what I should do.
  • I'm married
  • I'm emancipated
  • I'm seventeen
  • I want to go home to New Mexico
I'm in fear of my husband, we've had abuse problems in the past. And I need advise. I want to go home I just can't stay with him anymore...

Hello is anyone there?

Give people time to respond. It wont be automatically replied to once posted. You DO have to wait.

Is there a womans refuge centre you could get in contact with, they could help you in the right direction.

Hey Gabrielle,
No one deserves to live in fear.
You shouldn't have to.
Definately check up on women's refuges and emergency housing.
The sooner you get out the better.
I found this website http://www.napanews.org/ it has numbers that you can call to get in touch with this organisation and they will be able to help you and get you housing or somewhere to stay, somewhere where you will be safe.
I'm always here if you need someone to speak to Gabrielle.

Hey Gabrielle.
Like Laura and Paige said, see if you can go to a women's refuge. If you have physical marks from the abuse, you may be able to file a police report and possibly get a restraining order against him. The most important thing though is that you get out safely, and as soon as you can.
Do you have any way of contacting friends or family in New Mexico? If so, maybe you can make arrangements with them so that you'll have a plan once you leave.
And remember, if the violence starts up again, get to a safe place and then call the police. They're there to help.

Don't hesitate to private message me if you need anything else or just want to vent. Welcome to TeenHelp, by the way. Stay safe. <3
