An opportunity to make new friends? Is it worth it? - August 28th 2010, 06:03 PM

I'm using fake names.

So, thanks to Facebook, I've rekindled a semi-friendship-acquaintance-y-type-thing with a girl named Keira. She's friends with these girls named Julia, Rachel, Kelsey, and Michelle. They're an incredibly close group, and so loyal. And I am quite envious as I'm lacking in close friends.

Michelle posted a link to her Formspring and I took the bait and, anonymously, wrote this:
"i am genuinely jealous of the friendship you, julia, rachel, kelsey, keira, etc. share. my life has consisted of friends stabbing me in the back, and you all seem incredibly loyal. kudos to you."

her response was as follows:

"i just aww-ed out loud. i never met a better group of people than them and im so happy to have them as friends theyre the best

i went through alot of hard times with old friends too so i know how you feel :\ if you ever wanna reveal yourself free feel to inbox me lol"

Is it worth pursuing? I was thinking of telling Keira I wrote that, since we're semi-close now, but is it worth it? It'd be a chance for me to make friends, and since the comment was well-received (Keira wrote on Michelle's Formspring saying it was so sweet), I dunno..

Help?

Go for it man, new freinds are always a plus, more so when you know they are solid and loyal and a good group of ppl. Given your history of friends in the past, this would be a great oppertunity for you to change your luck on friends. i sau 100% go for it

... or rather go for it girl! sorry...lol

Go for it although I have to suggest that you shouldn't sound so desperate for a friendship. I'd keep talking to them and ask to hang out one time, If everyone clicks boom you've got yourself a new group of friends. If not no hard feelings.

Good Luck!

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the [mome raths] outgrabe.
