Independence - October 18th 2010, 01:20 AM

All I want in my life is independence from my parents.. Im hoping that I can pass my license test this week. I literally have no one to go to, even my friends. My problems start and end at home. My parents are controlling freaks, and I cant stand it. People think Im relaxed and funny but thats just a show i put up on the outside. I sit in my room everyday to avoid my family.ought getting good grades would make me happy, but they dont, beacuse I live in hell. Sure our family looks great on the outside, but to be truthful I cant stand it. I keep telling myself two more years before I get out of this hellhole... but those two years seem like they're never coming.

Anyways,
if someone on here has any advice for me.. shoot

Its not like anyone else does

Ride it out until you're 18. Unfortunately, that's all the advice I can offer, because that's what I did when I was in your position. I spent as much time away from my mother as possible, I got involved in academics/extracurricular activities so I would have more excuses to stay in my room/delay coming home on weekdays, and I planned for the future (ex. getting my permit/license, looking at universities/applying for financial aid).

Hey there,

I'm sorry that you're feeling like this but I think Robin has said it all. You'll just have to wait until you're 18 and old enough to leave your house. You should definitely try to plan for the future, save up funds and research on how you're going to find a place to live etc.

Things will get better, take care.

Where are you going to run to? Running away doesn't solve any problems, believe me.
