I'm not sure what Emily was trying to say in her response... maybe that you should tell your friend how you feel about them and their behavior? I wouldn't say something like, "You need to stop doing stupid stuff in order to look cool and impress me," though! Instead, say something like, "I noticed you've been getting into some trouble lately - is there anything you want to talk about?" Ultimately, one of the more effective things you could do would be to excessively praise her when she does something right, and ignore her completely when she does something inappropriate. Finally, you could try talking to a teacher about what you've seen, and express your concerns about your friend's behavior. Maybe this has nothing to do with you at all. Maybe there's something going on at home, or your friend could be experiencing a mild form of ADHD, or something of that nature, which is causing her to behave inappropriately at times.
