Help for a friend?

Not sure if this post goes in this category but it sounded close enough. One of my best friends has a very low self image and is convinced that she is very overweight. She's really tall and has a sturdy body structure but she is definitely not overweight. Today, she called me on the phone and told me that she had gotten diet pills (Without her parent's permission) and was taking them. She also was extremely hyper and also told me that she had had some severe diarrhea and had possibly bled. I'm worried about her but I'm nervous about going to an adult for help because she'll feel like I betrayed her trust.

Hi Al, welcome to TH. I'm glad you want to help your friend. I know telling an adult is scary, but this is one of the times when you need to tell an adult what's going on. She might get mad, but that's better than her harming herself with these pills. You're doing it out of care and concern for her safety.
