Broken promises - November 24th 2011, 07:35 AM

What are your thoughts on broken promises within friendships?
How do you deal with a friend who has broken a promise?

I think they happen sometime but the friend has to realize that it was important to me and look me in the eye and be sorry...enough to be more careful promising or at least to keep the next!

Re: Broken promises - November 25th 2011, 01:39 PM

I hate broken promises >_<
Especially if it is sometime like promising me that we'll do this on this this day and then backing out cuz of something lame or whatever the reason is cuz once I know that this is what I am going to do then no matter what I HAVE to do that thing or I get al restless and sad.
Luckily, I realized pretty soon that the people around me were the ones who didn't know the meaning of a promise and distanced myself from then and in turn found some friends who keep their promises.

Its easier said that done BUT most of the great things wouldn't have ever been done if they hadn't been said first.

I myself think its horrible when someone breaks a promise. I try to be forgiving however I can never fully forget it

Re: Broken promises - November 28th 2011, 08:04 AM

Broken promises happen. Sometimes theres no preventing them. I ALWAYS give a second chance. But to be honest, I dont even have expectations anymore. Expectations kill, and hurt people. Thats why when you learn to control them, and not always expect everything, you dont get hurt nearly as bad as if you had them.

Promises in my opionion, are just words that go in one ear, and out the other. Actions are what I look at.
