What to get a girl, friend as a present for xmas

We're pretty close and she calls me her best friend but I don't know her too well to think of something special at any magnitude.

I was wondering if there's anything anyone would recommend?

I wasn't going to get her anything but she asked me "What I like that's under $20."
I asked her and she said she likes gift cards, but that seems to impersonal. Any ideas?

Well think about what she has mentioned that maybe you can do. Anything? Well heres some ideas:

Gift cards
Books (does she like reading?)
Personalized calendar
Chocolate
Cute errings
Other things

I mean find out what she likes to do (sports, activities, etc)

If she likes soccer for example, then buy her a picture of her favorite soccer player, or a coffie mug with soccer on there or something. Anything would be better than a impersonal gift card, but this will require alittle investiagting work :x

- You could bake, which is always fun. There are plenty of Christmas recipes out there too.

i decided to go with mutant gingerbread people and urban contemporaries. She has a nearly identical sense of humor so I think she'll like them

what does she like to do? does she have a favorite movie? you could make her an ornament, if it's cold you can give her cute mittens, or a pretty scarf. if she has an iPod you can't go wrong with an iTunes gift card. I do like chris's ideas- I would like any of those items. it's just a matter of investigating
