My bestfriend and I get a lot of crap because she's several years younger than me.
I was just wondering, is it weird that I am a junior and friends with a 6th grader? She's my best friend. I mean I don't think it's weird all my friends are generally younger than me.

Not really. I'm 21 and friends with people who are younger than me. I've either known them for years, or met them through my boyfriend's younger sister. I generally like them. Do I hang out with them alone? No. I think it would make some of the parents uncomfortable, especially if they don't know me.

I do not think its weird. We develop friendships of all ages. I have friends in 30's and friends at age 12. It doesn't matter - as long as you know how to manage each age group.
Its okay to have people as friends who aren't the same age - but it is very good to have friends at the same age level as well (especially through the Growing Teen Years). Best wishes, Chris Chris Jackson

And the ones that are, are generally guys. I'm just more comfortable around guys. |

I went ahead and moved this over to Friends&Family
I don't think its weird either, I have friends who are younger and older than me, as well as some my own age. I think as long as you get alone and can connect on some level, then age doesn't really matter. They are either younger than me or older than me, and those older than me or close to my age get bored with me quick. :/ |

Well than there is no problem(s) (or shouldn't be) with you having younger friends. I would just go with it. Whoever you like to hangout with is the way you should go - and no one should make you feel bad about it - including yourself. Don't think its weird, its just your preference of age group.
