I really don't know who to turn to-Please help - March 28th 2009, 08:07 PM

Ok, so i dont know where to start...
So, a long time ago, myfriend said that she was thinking about suicide so I told my mom and she told her parents. they put my friend and counciling and im not compeltly sure if she has 4gave me.
Thn, my other friend said that she was going to comit suicide and I called a help line and once agian told my mom. She's still in serious counciling, and she and I haven't talked since september.
Then, my guy friend told my friend and I that he was going to blow out his brains. We both told our parents and they told his parents. He's in counciling and hes so fucked up from all the drugs theyve gave him.
Now, my best friend called me at 11 last night sobbing saying that her parents were fighting and screaming at her brother b/c they thought he was drunk. I could litterally hear them fighting in the back round. I told my mom this morning about it, and she said that she might call child services on them.
I just don't know what to do. I feel like ive fucked up enough people's lives, and I feel like.....i don't know...like people dont trust me. I don't want to fuck up my friends life, but i want to help her. everyone keeps telling me that ive done the right thing by telling my parents and trying to help my friends, but i dont know anymore. Its just feels like im hurting them more than helping them and if you guys have any advice, please msg me.

'If he wants a fight well now he's got one
And he ain't seen me crazy yet
He slapped my face and he shook me like a rag doll
Don't that sound like a real man?
I'm gonna show him what little girls are made of
Gunpowder and lead'

Hi Aly,

When people are thinking about hurting themselves or committing suicide and you do something to stop them, you are always-always- doing the right thing. I understand that you are worried about people trusting you, but believe me, they will realize that you are a good friend who is only trying to help them. And counseling is not a bad thing. It sounds like your friends do need help.

It might take your friends a while to understand why you're getting them help. Some people don't like the thought of counseling right away. But I'm sure they will understand eventually.

In the case of your friend's parents yelling at her brother, I don't think that is a case to bring to child services. Getting drunk was his decision, and his parents didn't like that. Yelling was probably their first reaction. Yelling does not mean child services needs to take their son away. I don't know the full story and what their life is like at home all the time, but for just that case, I wouldn't say it is too serious.

Right now you are doing the right thing. Don't doubt it. Your friends are lucky to have a good friend like you.

Everyone has a story. What's yours?

You of course did the right thing by informing your parents that your friends are having suicidal thoughts.
Otherwise, they would have gone un-noticed by the parents and who knows what would have happened instead. They may not appreciate what you did for them now, but as they grow older they will come to realise that you did the best thing for them. Without a doubt.

With this case I don't know. I mean, everyone argues right? Perhaps it was just a one off. Parents are there to protect you, they shout and argue out of love and care for you, not because they necessarily enjoy it. I would talk to your friend more, ask her if it's a common occurrence or if it only happens once every now and again. Like I say, no one is perfect. Even the happiest of couples argue, it's healthy.

sweetie ok you havnt fucked up anyones lives if anything youve made a difference in their lives and they just dont realize it yet. getting help when your suicidal is the hardest part and you helped your friends get that. when they start to feel better they will thank you for this you just need to give them time to realize thst you only did what you thought would be best for them and that you really care
