What the... - March 31st 2009, 11:33 PM

Well, according to my mom, I am a screw up from hell, who doesn't know how to do anything right. How do I deal with that? Those words cut deeper than anything else could... =[

heya.

There is no way you can really take that. However sometimes I find it makes me feel better when I prove what people say, wrong. It is crappy to hear that from your own parent. Was she in a bad mood, or does she usually say things like this?

She was mad because she thought I had deleted a picture that she wanted to save, which I didn't. And I hadn't used that camera before. And quite, honestly, she has said a lot of shitty stuff to me, but this is one of the worst, because she meant it. =[

Hey,
I'm sorry that your mom has said these kind of things to you. I think that everyone gets angry occasionally, maybe your mom had already been dealing with something that was getting her stressed, and when you accidentally deleted the picture, it really upset her. That doesn't make it right for her to say what she did, of course. But everyone says things that they don't mean when they get upset or angry, and I doubt that your mom means the things that she says either. If this is something that happens regularly, though, maybe you should try and have a talk with your mom. I know that a lot of times my mom gets like this when she is under a lot of stress from day to day, and it helps for both of us to talk things over. Hopefully she will understand and at least try to lighten up. Regardless, I highly doubt that your mom means the things that she says to you. If you ever need to chat, don't hesitate to PM me. Best of luck. x

I'm sorry about what your mom said. She shouldn't of said it and I'm sure she didn't really mean it. Even so, theirs no excuse to say such nonsense. Just try to not let it get to you. I know that's easier said then done but you can't let her win. It must hurt like hell but you should try to not let her bring you down. Don't give her that satisfaction of negative power. Do your best to keep control and stand up for yourself (even if that means being vocal about it). You have every right to be your own advocate..
