What's your favourite Christmas food? - November 24th 2012, 08:19 PM

I know we always do a "special" shop for Christmas food so I was wondering what is your favourite Christmas food?

Honestly, the alcohol is my favourite part

The actual turkey dinner is great too though since I love roast dinners but I have turkey roasts at other times of the year so it's perhaps not just a Christmas food for me

We always frost sugar cookies, does that count? I'm much more interested in the holiday desserts.

My grandma used to make homemade fudge that was super delicious. Oh. And she makes coconut cake, which is kind of her specialty and I've never had a coconut cake that compares to hers. So. That's probably my fave Christmas food.
I like the different flavors of coffee that come out too, though. Like the Christmas blends and stuff.

Ham. I've only had it once but I also like ginger-bread house. Not the bread part, mainly the icing. I'd be lying if I said I haven't ate just the icing in secret.

Re: What's your favourite Christmas food? - November 30th 2012, 02:52 PM

On Christmas day, we have munchies. I LOOOOOOOOOOVE the little hot dogs you eat with a fork that's in a sweet sauce. Om nom, my mom has made that for as long as I can remember. We have Chinese for Christmas Day dinner, and I have it during other times of the year. So that's nothing special.

The day after Christmas, when my dad's parents and brother come down, we have ham. But my Nana always brings shadow cake!!!! OMFG. SOOOO GOOD! I know that's a dessert and not a food, but that has to be my favorite, hands down.

I make it last four days, until my birthday. That's how much I love it!

Mama's homemade pierogi if I can get her to make them! (Special request this year since we're going home for a Christmas visit!) and, of course, the Christmas baked ham.
For desserts... Warm, fresh baked chocolate chip cookies.

I'm probably going to be the only one who says this but my favourite christmas food has to be the brussel sprouts and the stuffing balls, but I don't like turkey I find turkey too dry.

My mom will sometimes make tamales near the new year and those are very yummy. Then mint hot cocoa. And sugar cookies. And Starbucks holiday drinks. And Ihop mint chocolate chip pancakes.

For christmas, we set up the table with fruit and nuts, sliced turkey, ham, brie, camenbert (this is how tired I am, I can't even spell). I think I love the mango and brie best. Most christmas's we have pavlova with mums chantilly cream, or mums triple swirl cheese cake as well. YUmmmmmm.

Jay.
