Hi, I'm starting a food blog and have just set up my website. What kind of things would you like/expect from a food blog? would you prefer purely recipes, or some blogs about ingredients and techniques?
All of the above, and they can be subtly mixed together into posts to make sure readers get the best results.
What can really make such blogs, though, is touches of you. Your personality and writing style is everything - throw in some personal comments every so often . You could maybe have a special "My Thoughts" box, etc.
I personally also find lots of images (just small ones that can be enlarged by clicking, generally) very helpful on such blogs.
To add what these guys have said, I think having a section about supplies would be great. This would include the types of pans needed in a basic kitchen along with sample "regular" shopping lists. Then, I'd also divide it by breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, dessert, along with special diets such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, low-fat, etc.

& the sun said “it hurts to become."
