Healthy Snacks? - November 19th 2013, 01:01 AM

I would think this would be a no brainer but do any of you have simple healthy snacks you enjoy munching on? I'm trying to turn away from processed things like candy and chips. x3

I like yogurt covered raisins, would those be considered healthy?

Or just regular yogurt.

Or fruit!

I love yogurt covered raisins
Maybe things like pineapple and banana. Yogurt is also pretty good, as Dez said.
I like snaking on carrots, oranges, apples, watermelon, and peanut butter. I'm not sure if peanut butter is considered healthy though, maybe in moderation...
Anyway, fruits and vegetables are always great snacks

homemade coconut at oat cookies

If you're a fan of coconut, it's something worth looking in to. Though I do understand that it's one of those flavors that people either love or hate, lol. Also homemade peanut butter....rice cake is another one I like to munch on, even if it's just plain but it's also cool to add something on it.

Tier 1 = Fruits are the healthiest snacks. I think sugarfree yogurt or honey yogurt is pretty good too.
Second tier snacks are like Welches, fruit pies, some whole grain bars, have nutrition but also might make you more fat. Fruit CAN if eaten at wrong time/excess, but a banana every two hours is more likely to make you lose weight due to active metabolism.

Personally I like fruit the most but I'm too lazy to wash it and it rots fast.
In terms of convenience + taste + price
Bananas > Welches > Grain bars > rasberries/strawberries/apples

What lies ahead is unknown. However, in some times, I've sighted several smooth pavements. I myself am the mender of roads, and it is with these we work on.

Fruits and vegetables are always a good bet! Maybe try carrot and celery with ranch. You can also get serving sizes of chips with an apple; that way, you still get the snack you love, but also get something healthy in! You can also try Triscuits, they're one of my favorites for when I'm craving chips! They're a whole-grain cracker that is filled with fiber. You can put some low fat cheese on them, dip in hummus, or eat them plain!

I'd say that fruit is a very healthy snack. If you're a fan of dry fruit and covered raisins(as mentioned above already, you could go for that. My personal favorite is cucumbers.

Dried fruit is another option, less effort to prepare. I like to have a small amount of chocolate with some dried fruit so it's like a treat without having too much. If you're going to have yoghurt though I wouldn't suggest sugar free, they tend to put otther rubbish in to replace and it's not really that healthy, something like natural or greek yoghurt is best.

I thought of another one today. Sugar free Popsicles. When me and my friend were trying to lose weight, those were our best friends
