Question Tips for glutton free eating? - April 23rd 2014, 01:12 AM

Today I was diagnosed with celiac disease (allergy to gluten) so from now on I'm going to have to exclude anything that isn't gluten-free from my diet. Problem is, basically everything I normally eat has freakin' gluten in it!

This is going to be a HUGE change for me (change being something I really don't deal with well) and I don't really know what to do. I've done some research to look into things I should stay away from as well as looking into health food stores in the area (I also looked into restaurants that serve gluten free meals but there where only two and they where both, like, 30 miles from my house )

Basically any tips or suggestions or even simple recipes would be really appreciated

p.s. I know, I typed "glutton" instead of "gluten" oops

Remember to use the search button when you post! I posted this a couple of weeks ago:

I've found that gluten free food is more common than you think. Start shopping around or rice cakes, gluten-free pasta, and you can always start baking your own bread!

I've moved this over to Food and Recipes because I think it fits better here.
I went gluten free for about a year because my stomach wasn't able to digest anything properly and I was getting sick a lot. I ate a lot of:
- Fruits and veggies with humus
-Gluten free cereal (Chex!)
-Rice cakes with peanut butter
-Soup (check ingredients)
-Rice and quinoa
-Veggie chips
-Sandwiches with gluten free bread
-Potatoes

And here you are living, despite it all.
