Lightbulb Oatmeal cookies without butter - July 25th 2015, 05:18 AM

So I was craving some oatmeal cookies but it turns out we don't have any butter. So I was reading the thread of how someone made chocolate chip cookies without butter so I was wondering if you can make oatmeal cookies without butter and they still taste good. If anyone has tried this can you tell me how. Thanks.

You can make oatmeal cookies without butter. I know that I will sometimes substitute the butter with applesauce and a little bit of oil and they still taste good! If you don't want to substitute the butter with apple sauce you could just use oil or vegetable shortenings (but if I use a vegetable shortening, I will only use half the amount called for.) You can also use canned pumpkin if you want that flavour or any other fruit purees but I usually stick with applesauce and it does taste good!

I usually play with recipes but this one is a good one to try if you're going to use applesauce or this one is a good option for using oil instead of butter! Now this one is more of a peanut butter oatmeal cookie but they are so good as well!

I hope this helped and if you have anymore questions, please feel free to ask! Good luck.

My mom never uses butter in our oatmeal cookies, actually! We just use vegetable oil. Shortening would make them a bit fluffier, but it's not very healthy, so we stick to regular vegetable oil, but you can choose either one!

I make oatmeal cookies with very few ingredients: oats, bananas, chocolate chips (optional), coconut oil, and vanilla. They turn out wonderful, AND healthy.
