Smoothie Blends - December 27th 2015, 05:32 PM

I thought making a thread about our smoothie recipes would be fun. Share our favorite smoothies and new smoothie blends.

I've been making this one smoothie and I really like.

What you will need:
  • Frozen bananas
  • Cold water
  • Cranberries (bagged and then boiled)
  • Arugula
I prepared the cranberries that come in a bag and boil them in water (I don't use sugar). Then, I put water in a jug and place in fridge so it's cold. I then cut bananas up and put them in plastic bags so they are frozen.

I add the frozen banana, chilled cranberries, arugula, and cold water in the blender. I blend it up and if it's too bitter I add in more banana and adding more frozen banana will get the consistency you would like to have. (watery, in-between, or thick, chunky)

It is really good. I like it. So what are your smoothie blends you have or tried?

Is there anything you think will taste good to replace the bananas? I like bananas but they give me stomach cramps, but I like the idea of using cranberries.

Would strawberries, melons (watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew) pineapple, grapes, etc., which you can all freeze and use in smoothies. Just cut them up small and put them in freezer bags or containers.

You can also add leafs to planet like I did, for that added goodness.

Not sure what the next smoothie blend I will try out, maybe something exotic and crazy.

Oh adding in chia seeds, flax seeds or any type of seeds also adds in yummies.

Are you eating your bananas when they are ripe? Bananas should be very brown and spotty before you eat them. If you don't eat them when they're ripe enough they don't digest well.
I make smoothies pretty often. I usually just keep some frozen berries in my freezer and add a banana and some almond milk or just water and lastly I add in a handful of spinach. If I have dates I'll add one or two for sweetness as well.

And here you are living, despite it all.
