How did it not work? Did it not blend the ice well? Did it just not blend period?

You may try adding in milk (or substitute).

I usually use a banana as a good starting base. But you should be able to use the fruit as a base, as well.

My typical smoothie in order:

1 banana, sliced, frozen
1/2c - 3/4c cup yogurt
2 tbsp cocao
3 tbsp pb2
1 cup ice (occasionally, I'll add the ice first and blend it a bit before the rest)
1/4c - 1/2c almond milk

It probably didn't blend because there was no liquid in there. Try using a little bit of milk (cow, almond, coconut, etc.).

Milk and fruit, with banana as a base. I've never added ice before, only water. What exactly went wrong? Did it just not blend? Was the consistency wrong?

Did your smoothie just not mix and did you add an liquid? You need a liquid in order for the blender to blend it.

I usually put in coconut water, fresh juice or water (I never have used milk in my smoothies) yoghurt, chai seeds, and then the fruit I want so for example: strawberries, peaches, pommagrante, kale, spinach and then blend.

Yogrt is really thick, you usually need to add a little water or milk to loosen it up

My smoothies usually look like this

1. scoop of chocolate protein powder
2. spoon of peanut butter
3. Almond milk (1.5 cups)
4. Six ice cubes
5. One banana

OOOOOR

1. Coconut water OR Almond milk, 1.5 cups
2. Fruit and veggies (usually berries and spinach, sometimes a banana or pinneaple)
3. Scoop of protein powder
4. Option to use spirulina, hemp seed, chia seed, honey, etc.

The key thing is to use a liquid. Yogurt, before I quit dairy, was way to thick and led to a mixture that was hardly drinkable and basically needed a spoon.

I usually make them with:

-One cup cashew milk
-Handful of spinach
-A few pitted dates
-Handful of strawberries
-One or two bananas

And here you are living, despite it all.
