Christmas baking - December 7th 2019, 09:45 PM

We made gingerbread men yesterday and it was fun. We also plan on making mince pies and a chocolate log later on this month too.

Do you have any festive treats you like to make? Or any traditional things you bake? Feel free to share

My family and I used to make fudge. We haven't done it in a few years but it used to be amazing.

A Danish thing called “havregryns-kugler”/outmealballs. It’s goood!
And then chocolate cookies

We bake a little over 2,000 cookies. Snowballs, gingerbread cookies and gluten-free peanut butter. It's fun, but it's crazy too.

We usually have a big feast on Christmas Eve/Day...not really baking as such.

We tend to bake a bunch of pre-made cake mixes. Red velvet, victoria sponge, lemon, chocolate etc. On top of that we usually have a sort of buffet/spread over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. There's always so much food that it lasts for over a week... then there's New Years Eve and day where we do similar.

My mom and I usually bake a ton of cookies, but every year we start with fudge. Which for some reason before I was born, was nicknamed the Yield. Which we are planning to make tonight funny enough. But we make everything from sugar cookies some years, to shortbread, peanut butter blossoms, these tiny cookies called Spritz that are made for decorating, oatmeal raisin.

We used to do cookie exchanges, where each visiting guest would bake one batch of cookies and we'd pick one from each platter. Haven't done that in many years. We also used to make fudge, but haven't done that in a while either.

I rather buy the cookies from the grocery store.
