Grilling - May 16th 2011, 09:32 PM

As those of us on this site in the Northern Hemisphere are nearing summer, some of us will start grilling outside.

It depends on where you live quite often, but I'm curious..... What foods do you like to grill. How do you like them to be grilled? What sort of grill do you use?

I absolutely love grilled brats, hot dogs and chicken breast on a classic charcoal grill. Chicken is especially good if it's marinated and spiced before you drop it on the grill. Brats are best if they're blackened a little bit.

So. Tell me. Maybe even give me a few new grilling ideas?

Grilled shrimp? It's so good if you can make it the right way. But I'm cheap and shrimp is expensive.

Is this the same as a barbecue? is so then I like sausages (good ones, not cheepy crap ones), burgers, steak, tuna steak, gammon steak, pork belly, chicken strips, asparagus and possibly some other stuff.

Carne asada (meat) we just started grilling here because it's getting hot. We usually do it like this:
orange juice
a dash of beer (optional)
pepper
garlic salt
oregano
onion slices
orange slices
to each steak you put a little of each ingredient. If you let it marinate a little it will taste better.

Adding beer to grilled meats while it's on the grill is excellent. I can't buy it legally here, but I usually take some from my parents and use it on brats.

That entire recipe you listed sounds incredible though. It looks so good.

I consider a brat that is still grayish pink to be blasphemous. A brat must be charred at least part way to be eatable.

Re: Grilling - May 20th 2011, 08:06 AM

We throw london broil on the grill. It's one of my favorites!
Also, marinated and grilled chicken breasts are pretty darn good too.

Sometimes when my dad's grilling, I coax him into grilling pineapple rings and tomatos. It gives 'em a totally different flavor, and you have to be careful not to burn 'em, but... they're SO GOOD.
I'm gonna talk him into trying grilled corn on the cob next.

You're so mean. Also, I wouldn't taste good. My family says I'm a very sour person, and I've even been told that I've been spoiled.

Bite me. (and find out if I taste good).
