Even as a newer fan, I'm not OK :'( - May 7th 2012, 04:08 AM

So, I just recently became a huge fan of Avenged Sevenfold. I'm like a diehard now, and I can't get enough of this band.
Lately, though, I've been feeling really sad listening to them, because I can't stop thinking about their drummer, Jimmy Sullivan, who passed away at the very end of 2009.
It seems kinda weird that as a newer fan who hadn't known about Avenged or anything when Jimmy died, that I'm posting in the Death and Grieving section. I just can't help but feel so sad and emotional whenever I listen to their music, or watch a funny video of him, I just lose it. I can't stop asking God why? Why would You take such a brilliant, talented and young man so early? (He was only 28, almost 29 when he died.) I could be wrong, but he had an enlarged heart, and died of an accidental overdose/mix of his medications due to intoxication.
I've thought about writing a letter to him, even though he's dead, or something along those lines, but I don't know if that'd help

It isn't weird that you're feeling grief over Jimmy's death. I've been a fan for quite some time and I still feel some emotion when I think about his passing. I would definitely recommend that you try writing a letter to him. It's a really good way to get all of your emotions out and say everything that you want to say.

wanderlust consumed her;
foreign hearts & exotic minds compelled her.
she had a gypsy soul
and a vibrant heart for the unknown.

D'awhhhhh I'm crying again
I told my mom (which is not something I usually do) and I told her that I'd thought about writing a letter, putting it in a balloon and putting it into the sky so he'd "receive it in Heaven" but she doesn't know what the laws are.
I'm gonna start a letter tonight, though.
