someone's dying - April 29th 2009, 06:09 PM

It's bad enough watching one person die, but now someone else in my family is. Not even CLOSE to the experience in the past (which was worse) but I'm so scared. She went into the hospital today to be in palliative care until she dies.

Hey there, Jennifer.

First, I want to apologize that no one has noticed your thread sooner. Sometimes we all get a little caught up with life and miss things. If that happens, in the future, please feel free to send a mod a PM with a gentle knock upside the head. We want to be here for you, you don't have to face things alone.

I'm so sorry to hear about your struggles. Losing a loved one is not something you can prepare for, and there's nothing to make it easy. Hopefully you can spend time with friends and family, during these difficult times, and lean on them for comfort and support. Try not to lock yourself away from those who care about you--it is okay to need them, right now and always, and it is okay to ask for their presence.

Take care of yourself, Jennifer. Let me know if I can be here for you, in any way.

Someday I will be strong enough to lift not one but both of us.
I told you to be patient
I told you to be fine
I told you to be balanced
I told you to be kind
