Unhappy worried I'll loose someone - September 27th 2014, 08:09 AM

I didn't really know where to post this issue because it's actually very vague and profound even to me, but I've had this horrible sinking feeling lately that I am going to loose someone.

I guess that on it's own this isn't all that strange, what's really weird is that I feel like I'm going to loose someone who doesn't even actually exist. Basically I have a strong painful feeling as though I'm going to loose a child, which is impossible because I have never had a child, been pregnant, or even had sex.
I have little siblings that I help take care of but the youngest out of them is already a toddler and when I get this feeling it is distinctly about a newborn baby, I don't know how I can tell but I just can.

I know this seems strange but the emotions I feel when I think about it are as strong as if I imagined what it would be like to loose one of my real family and it leaves me weeping, even though I can't explain it. I would love if anyone could share their opinion, or even similar stories

Hey there,

I'm sorry that you're feeling this way. I think it's easy to worry about things like this a lot because the future is so far off and we have no idea what's going to happen, but you can't let that control your thoughts. You have to live your life to the fullest and not let that fear control you. Unfortunately people do loose their loved ones. It's really unfortunate, but you have to enjoy it while you have those people in your life. You have to cherish them and not think about all the what if's that could happen, live your life and enjoy it.

I hope this helps a bit.

Like Lauren said, you don't have control of when and how you will lose a loved one and although this may be a debilitating fear, try not to let it get the best of you. Live in the now and let your family know that you love them whenever you get the chance. You may not have the people you love physically around forever but you will always have the precious memories of those people.

Hi, Ko!

Sorry that you feel this way, although, I can understand why you feel this way. Our loved ones are people we hold dear to us. Thinking of losing them is a heartbreaking thought. But as it's been mentioned, how and when we lose someone is something we don't really have any control over. Which is why even though it's easier said than done, it's best that you try not to let these thoughts get to you too much. In the meantime, make sure they know you love them, don't be afraid to voice that. Try to make the best of each day with them. While we never know how much time we have with people we love, that's why it's best to make the most of the time we're given. Bond with your loved ones, and make lots of happy memories with them so that you'll always have wonderful memories to cherish no matter what.
