Hey there,

It sounds like your friend's grandad is really special to you. I can definitely understand that--it's easy to love people who are not our own family, as if they are our own family. Having known him for nine years, it only makes sense, to me, that you are feeling upset right now.

I can appreciate you not wanting to upset your friend. Have you considered asking someone else? Since he is a special person in your life, knowing may help you to make peace with everything that is going on, you know? Having answers really can help us to cope with things.

I hope you are able to spend time with him and with your friend. Treasure the memories you have of him and take this opportunity to make new memories with him. Although a day will come, sooner than you are ready, when he is no longer with you in person, your memories are yours to keep, forever. No one and nothing can take your past from you; he can always live on in your heart.

Take good care of yourself and don't be afraid to talk about what is going on. Remember, also, that TH is always here for you. Don't be afraid to PM me if you need anything.

Someday I will be strong enough to lift not one but both of us.
I told you to be patient
I told you to be fine
I told you to be balanced
I told you to be kind
