Friend's loss - October 11th 2009, 03:39 PM

Hey. I would appreciate any suggestions you guys have, anything at all.

One of my best friends lost her mother to cancer this week, and I really want to be there for her. I've been a little nervous because I know sometimes people just want to be left alone, but I hate the idea of her having to hurt like this with nobody around.

Is there anyway I can be there for her, without overcrowding her? Thanks so much in advance.

I think you are a great friend to want to help your friend through this. She obviously needs her friends the most right now and is probably feeling so many emotions right now. She might need some space but I think you just need to tell her that you are there for her if she ever wants to talk. Or even just being there with her even if she might not want to talk about it. Just being there can mean the world at times.
