*also maybe triggering for SH and Substances* R.I.P - November 24th 2009, 11:07 PM

This thread has been labeled as triggering, particularly on the subject of death or grieving, by the original poster or by a Moderator. The contents of this thread might therefore not be suitable for certain sensitive users. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

On Sunday I got a call letting me know that my shop teacher had passed away from a sudden heart attack... What a way to end a weekend eh? We have a memorial for him in the foyer of our school. Everyone has been adding pictures and poems and the like on it... We were excused from classes yesterday but today we were supposed to go on like nothing has happened. At least that's what it feels like the school is trying to do is get us to forget about it. Although they have organized buses for anyone who would like to go to the funeral.

I'm going, I'm hoping it will bring me some closure because it's still so unbelievable. I've spent the last two days in utter emotional chaos. Fighting the urge to use or cut as a way out... In fact even right now it's almost unbearable. I came very close to getting in a fist fight DURING class today. I just don't know what to do. Normally I just disassociate myself from anything that hurts too much but this time I want to deal with it... I don't know how much room is left in the part of me that keeps all my disassociated memories and feelings. It doesn't help that it was a teacher so I'm not the only one that's in an iffy mood... The wrong word, the wrong movement and you have fistfights and yelling matches breaking out.

Monday one kid made a really really bad mistake of saying "I'm glad the fuckers dead" and ended up getting chased and jumped by about 15 kids... It's really just a shit load of pandemonium at school.

Hi Des,

I'm so sorry about your loss. Losing someone at any age is hard. He must have been amazing. You need to pull through and not cut.. Think about the good times, not the bad. I'm proud of you for going to the funeral, thats a huge step. Stay strong!

PM me if you need anything
