Just Lost Him... :( - April 1st 2010, 03:04 PM

So I was on Spring Break 2 weeks ago and when I came back, my only Grandfather had passed away. So like two days later my family and I went up to Maine for the wake, funeral and burial... But the only thing is throughout the whole three days, I did not feel a fucking thing... No sadness, nothing. I did not cry or anything. Is there something wrong with me. I do live in MD so I did not see him that much but when we would go up to Maine, we would spend alot of time with him. As much as we could. So I mean I was pretty close to him. I just dont understand why im really not feeling anything. I miss him so much already

Hey Nate,
First off, I'm so sorry, no matter how close you are its a tough thing losing a grandparent.
I totally agree with what Will said, everyone grieves differently. Just because you didn't cry or feel especially emotional doesn't mean you're any less upset than anyone else. Sometimes your body will push itself into numbness in order to stop feeling upset - does that make sense?
You said yourself that you miss him already, to me thats proof that you're grieving in your own way. Don't push yourself into anything that your mind and body doesn't want to do, make sure you look after yourself - yeah?
Message me if you need anything

You are the one, the one who lies next to me,
Whispers "hello, I missed you quite terribly"
