My Uncle - May 19th 2010, 09:11 PM

He was an alcoholic & got a Dui, & decided he'd go get help.. & by that time it was too late.. I can't recall how long ago, but he was diagnosed with liver cancer. He's getting chemotherapy to slow it down.. but he has one year left to live. I go down to my hometown to see him some weekends.. but I know when the time comes I won't be ready for it...

Hey Kori,

I am sorry to hear about your uncle. It is a really difficult situation to be in to know that you are going to lose someone who you are close to. It might be hard but I think you have to try to focus on the time you have left together and make the most of this time. So perhaps plan to do some things with your uncle that you both enjoy.

It is something that you won't be ready for when it does happen because you don't want it to. But I suppose it is something which you are going to have to come to terms with, which is going to be the hardest part.

I am always here if you want to chat. Stay strong.

I'm sorry to hear about that. =/
My uncle died from lung cancer and it was really hard for me.
Just enjoy the time you have together, don't let his death bring you down.
Try to make the time you have left last.
Slowly you'll be able to accept it's how it is.
At the moment you're just going through the shock.
It will all set in, in time.
If you need to talk, feel free to pm me.

I'll do whatever it takes to be the mistake you can't live without.
